It was one of those nights again, when everything around her seemed to slow down.

The past weeks had been an endless race where she was constantly restless, and running and chasing.

Now she lay in bed and kept staring at the moving lights from the cars outside that seeped through her window and danced in the ceiling.

She remembered him again in the steadiness.

She always remembered him when the world was still and silent, and all the chaos was crammed in her head.

She wished he was still there when she needed someone to talk to.
He was the only one who could read her through, and laugh at her silliness all at the same time.

Did he still think of her though?

She knew she shouldn’t bother about it anymore because it seemed that there was a slim chance that she would ever get to know if he still did.

Was there another one like him, instead? She laughed, because she had long doubted that too.

She had wished for a whole lot of things but she just could not wish for her thoughts of him to go away.
She couldnโ€™t.
She had tried.

She watched the moving lights from the cars outside that seeped through her window and danced in the ceiling.

And hoped that when the warm stream of tears that welled up in her eyes would run out, things would’ve picked up their usual pace again, and didn’t have to slow down for her anymore.

Oh how she wished, as they wrote it in books, that it was always that easy.
