I know you’ve just finished class now, and you have a paper, no, two papers to finish tonight. And the whole building is trembling from the thunder rolls, and the lights just went out. 😩
The days have been really long and convoluted; they always have. I just hope that however you lose your way in the windings, you keep on taking brave steps forward.
Remember what your good teacher told your whole class tonight. That she’s proud of all of you, and looking forward to be colleagues in the profession.
You see, no matter how cold and cruel and dark some parts of the world are, there will always be warm pockets of sunshine or bright streaks of light coming out of cracks somewhere.
You can cry awhile for the wretchedness of the universe, it’s alright.
But don’t ever forget to be a light too, because you know too well how hard enough it is to see people around suffer.
I hope there was a way to ease some of it.
I wish there were a lot we can do.
I wish there was a lot I can do.
But let’s get back to the papers now. And maybe one day we’ll bring more light around. And maybe burn away the cold, the cruel and the darkness.
