She looked at him stare at her tenderly for a few seconds and caught a tiny sparkle in his eyes.

He did not say a word, and for a minute there, it felt like an eternity.

She wondered what he was thinking about, and she wondered too if she had to feel sad again because, apparently, all things in her life always had to be fleeting.

He smiled, brushed his hair with his hands, and sighed shyly.

And it suddenly dawned on her, as she tried to swallow that lump in her throat-
-that perhaps,
Yes perhaps, there still was a nice little chance for eternity.
