do prayers really get answered?
i wish so.

but do we get answers, or do we get signs?
signs that someone, somewhere hears us but can’t do everything for us.

maybe only help us learn from the present,
help us feel more loved,
maybe help us become more human,
and make us realize that we are part of a world that is fleeting, and yet still so beautiful.

or maybe remind us that we are vulnerable,
and alone sometimes,
but more alive, somehow, because we know that we are a part of something,
however grand or trivial.

do prayers really get answered?
i hope so.

because I have not stopped–

–praying for things,
and people,
and futures that are not only mine to make,
but for the rest of the universe to do.

oh, I have not stopped.

do prayers really get answered?
in half, or in its entirety, or more?
in essence, in spirit,
in whatever form, please,
and whatever circumstance;
in whatever else I’d have to give in return?

do prayers really get answered?
i really wish,
now, more than ever,
and trust that they do.
